A BILL to amend article ten, chapter eighteen-b of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section four-b, relating to fee waivers for students in health science and technology academy programs.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article ten, chapter eighteen-b of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section four-b, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 10. FEES AND OTHER MONEY COLLECTED AT STATE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION.
§18B-10-4b.
Additional fee waivers for Health Sciences and Technology Academy Programs.
(a) In addition to the number of fee waivers permitted in sections five and six of this article for undergraduate, graduate and professional schools, each state institution of higher education may waive all fees or any part thereof for students who are residents of West Virginia and who successfully complete the health sciences and technology academy affiliated prorams, as defined in chapter eighteen-b, article one, section two of the code of West Virginia.
(b) For purposes of section four-b, article ten, chapter eighteen-b of this code, "Health Sciences and Technology Academy Programs" means programs for health sciences to assist junior high and high school students, in conjuctions with their parents and teachers, to enhance their knowledge and abilities in subject matters which would further a career in the field of health sciences.
